Thomas Nolf's interdisciplinary practice spans photography, text, video and installation often blending these mediums to explore socio-philosophical themes.

As Real As It Gets is a reflection on escapism and the pursuit of childhood dreams. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Nolf rediscovered his fascination with flying and turned to Microsoft Flight Simulator as a way to transcend the limitations of the pandemic. This virtual escape allowed him to reconnect with a childhood passion that he had put on hold. Motivated by this experience, he sought out others who, like him, found solace in flight simulators and airline spotting.
