Bellissima, follows Rebecca, a young aspiring model, documenting her journey from a casting call to auditions across Italy. She faces harsh critiques and rejection within the beauty standards of Italian media. Archival footage from Miss Italia pageants links the project to Berlusconi-era TV, which perpetuated hyper-sexualised, decorative roles for women. Re-photographed archival images of infantilised poses are contrasted with Rebecca's fashion-forward portraits, critiquing the cultural machinery that produces and sells beauty and questioning the consequences of its endless performance and consumption.
