Kwabena Appiah-Nti defines the overarching theme in his photography as ‘boyhood.’

With Golden Boy, he wants to improve the image of black youth by associating them with excellence, riches and true beauty.

“‘Golden Boy is a series about the contemporary black boy. Its name is partly derived from the way our skin glows in the sun.”
